Riding the yak around Tsomgo Lake was an extremely memorable experience for me as it was something new. Usually, for new experiences, you get very excited and scared at the start but it passes all too quickly and before you know it, it is over. However, the ride this time was long enough for us to soak in the beautiful scenery at the lake. I was also impressed with the guide, who went out of his way to note of our eating preferences and bring us to food places that met those preferences.

The hotels exceeded my expectations; I expected something basic and functional given the obscure locations, but they were really cosy and comfortable, one of them even had a library where we could watch videos on the Himalayas. They were very near local bazaars so we could shop for local things in our own time. The panoramic view from our balconies is also amazing.
